Sealing Leaky Gutters With FlexSeal Spray
< 1 min read
Tools you will need:
- Can of FlexSeal spray (we use clear color)
- Firm bristle brush (to break up dirt and debris from seams before sealing)
- Damp microfiber (to do a basic wipe down of seam areas before sealing)
- Painter’s tool (to scrape loose bits of old caulk from seams, as needed)
How to do it:
- Thoroughly clean the entire tray run prior to sealing any seams, including downspouts
- Remove as much loose debris and standing water from the seam area as possible
- Scrape away any loose, cracked caulk from the seam area, as needed
- Apply several thin coats of FlexSeal spray to the seam, overlapping be a few inches on each side (remember to shake the can well before spraying)
- Make sure to feather the edges of your spray area (thinner coat at the ends, thicker in the middle)
- The product will cure within a 24 hours and create a watertight seal
